Responsibilities

The Technical Account Manager is responsible for supporting our OEM and Aerospace sales channel through sales, technical support, and applications engineering.  This role will become an expert in IDEAL’s high precision Aerospace wire stripping products as well as Electrical Connectors used in OEM applications.  The successful candidate will report to the Director of Innovation and Technical Services and work closely with our Product Management, Engineering, and Manufacturing Teams.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with Director of Innovation and Technical Services to develop and execute business plan and growth strategy for OEM markets.
  • Analize customer applications and provide IDEAL solutions through current product or needed  product development
  • Develop Aerospace wire stripping solutions for new wire applications.  Though use of IDEAL applications principles
  • Partner with Engineering and Manufacturing to direct and coordinate prototype development and manufacturing.
  • Maximize sales revenue, market share, and profit margin of existing product lines.
  • Develop strong relationships and insights within markets served, Aerospace and Lighting.
  • Oversee sales support of existing product lines.
  • Partner with Customer Service to address technical and non-technical questions related to IDEAL Engineered Solutions product.
  • Develop and recommend sales objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts.
  • Assist with pricing strategy for new and existing products.
  • Continually improve knowledge of markets into which assigned products can be sold
  • Assist with the development of sales and marketing materials.
  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years technical sales experience (OEM Lighting or Aerospace a strong plus)
  • Use of Measuring Calipers and other tools used to analysis of Aerospace wire for Applications Engineering.
  • Demonstrated sense of urgency and results-oriented
  • Ability to work cross functionally and to influence organizational members without direct management.
  • Proven ability to develop account penetration plans for both engineering and purchasing dominated organizations and to communicate effectively to senior management.
  • Previous experience developing short and long range strategic plans for both business and product
  • Results oriented, self-motivated, good organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Travel domestically and internationally – 15% maximum

  • Sales and account management
  • Technical mindset with ability to work in an applications lab setting
  • Experience in Voice of Customer (VOC) processes
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Attention to detail in design and project planning
  • Critical time management and organizational skills
