Responsibilities

SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

 

The Corporate Accountant will provide accounting support, have exceptional problem-solving skills, and will be expected to guide and direct others in the finance department. The Corporate Accountant will be a key contributor to the monthly financial close process.  The monthly responsibilities will include such activities as maintaining the ERP system, posting journal entries, creating account reconciliations and account analysis, preparing financial statements, maintaining the fixed asset system and other duties as needed. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Take ownership of assigned general ledger accounts, including the accurate and timely recording of journal entries into the general ledger for the month-end financial close.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliations of assigned general ledger accounts with supporting documentation to ensure the financial statements are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure proper internal controls and US GAAP accounting by following policies and procedures.
  • Continually identify opportunities to streamline processes. Able to work with Business Accounting, FP&A and Global Accounting and Finance teams to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare, upload, and review of assigned journal entries on monthly close check list.
  • Perform general accounting functions including fixed asset accounting and intercompany accounting.
  • Assist in planning, organizing, and coordinating accounting activities to meet established objectives and schedules including the assignment of duties, monitoring of work completion and approval of reports, journal entries, and other data.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly management reports and schedules including budget vs. actual variance reports including follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
  • Assist with the preparation and administration of annual budget as well as periodic operating forecasts.
  • Assist with external auditors.
  • Manage the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and maintains and enforces proper A/P policies, practices, and internal controls to ensure company assets are safeguarded.
  • Provide back-end support to the payroll administrator.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA / BS in Accounting
  • Minimum of 1-3 years related experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently.
  • Knowledge of accounting theory and practice as well as GAAP
  • Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management and third parties.
  • Exhibit objectivity and openness to others’ views; contribute to building a positive team spirit and ability to put success of team above own interests.
  • Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness, identify areas of improvement, and promote quality while increasing productivity.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures; complete tasks on time, take responsibility for actions, support organizations objectives and strategy, strive to continuously build knowledge and skills.
  • Solid, concise written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with ERP accounting systems, NAV preferred.
