Responsibilities

The primary focus of the Project Manager is to plan, oversee and lead projects from requirements definition through deployment, identifying schedules, scope, budget estimations, implementation plans, including risk mitigation.  The Project Manager will coordinate internal and external resources to ensure that projects adhere to scope, schedule and budget, utilizing the New Product Development (NPD) phase gate process.  The Project Manager will analyze the project status and when necessary, revise the scope, schedule or budget to ensure the project requirements can be met.  The Project Manager will establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders, providing regular contact on project status and change.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project Leadership
  • Ensure projects have a clear vision, purpose, and execution strategy.
  • Establish and/or maintain processes for managing scope during project lifecycle and assessing risks.
  • Assign and/or monitor resources to ensure project efficiency and project deployment.
  • Report project outcomes cross functionally, including risk assessment, escalation of issues.
  • Preparation of monthly reporting of actual vs. budget/plan (NPD status) to Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Ensure stakeholders, project team members and other affected parties are aligned to the vision, purpose, and execution strategy of projects. Build teams and coalitions that are empowered to deliver.
  • Establish an effective project communication plan and ensure adherence.
  • Foster an innovative, open, and positive culture where team member input is encouraged, and differences are resolved constructively.
  • Support the development and maintenance of relevant project management structures, policies, procedures, and systems that enhance effective execution of business strategy.
  • Project Management
  • Ensure internal and external customer requirements & deliverables are identified, understood, and all required documentation is delivered complete.
  • Control scope, negotiate, oversee, and manage all Project Change Requests with stakeholders as required. Oversee the identification, planning and budgeting of project management tasks including robust, credible project schedules. Inputs should be taken from relevant stakeholders across the business.
  • Approve project spend (Capex) in line with agreed business limits and delegated authority levels.
  • Ensure internal and external suppliers have all required documentation (BOM, specifications, work instructions etc.) to achieve required quality standards and delivery times of product in accordance with contractual obligations.
  • Anticipate, identify & investigate deviations to project plans, organize solutions and maintain a focus on task by working with either/or both SLT members and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Ensure risks & issues are identified, managed, and addressed and all relevant parties kept informed.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Two or more years of project management experience within a structured phase gate process.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral) both cross functionally and to SLT.
  • Strong attention to detail, deadlines and budgetary guidelines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects cross functionally.

 

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Professional certification(s) such as PMP, CAPM, PgMP, PMI or Agile.
  • Experience managing projects within a manufacturing environment.
  • Master’s Degree, Business, Engineering or related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in coaching project team members to drive results.
  • Strong technical aptitude and/or the ability to understand technical concepts.
