    Based at the SK Hand Tool corporate office in Sycamore, IL, the Inside Sales representative will work cooperatively with management, outside sales and other members of the distribution team to grow existing customers, create new customers and meet or exceed monthly sales quotas at the appropriate gross margin while increasing customer satisfaction levels. As the primary point of contact for prospective and current customers, this position has great influence over the growth of the business through the power of first impression – and by consistently delivering the best possible customer experience, ensuring customer loyalty and generating referral business.   This position will focus on our Industrial and Specialty Retail trade classes and will report functionally to our Manager of Customer Service


    • Increase sales of SK products to assigned account list to include distributors and end-users.
    • Determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific products and solutions.
    • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner.
    • Contact SK customers via telephone to inform them of promotions and new products, help with returns, recommend product additions, pricing and product knowledge to maintain and grow customers interest in SK.
    • Proactive outbound calls are made to an established customer list at a rate of 10+ calls per day.
    • Help in creating call scripts and monthly drive items.
    • Work with SK field sales and sales leadership to address specific account needs.
    • Recommend alternate products based on cost, availability or specifications.
    • Present price, credit and terms in accordance with standard procedures and customers’ profitability profiles.
    • Accurately process customer transactions such as request for quotes (RFQ’s) and competitive cross-references.
    • Obtain accurate information from internal teams relating to shipment dates and expected date of delivery.
    • Increase sales and average order size by means of cross-selling, up-selling, add-on sales and offering information about promotional sale items.
    • Educate customers about terminology, features and benefits of products in order to improve product related sales and customer satisfaction.
    • Contact customers following sales to ensure ongoing customer satisfaction and resolve any complaints.
    • Develop excellent working relationships with distributors and end-users.
    • Identify trends in customer satisfaction or dissatisfaction.
    • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the SK Hand Tool team.


    • Associate Degree from an accredited University/College.
    • 3+ years of experience working in a sales related position and or inside sales environment.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent time management skills.
    • Self-motivated with independent work skills.
    • Ability to create outstanding customer relationships.
    • Ability and desire to respond to and resolve customer problems and complaints.
    • Knowledge of / ability to learn key business software applications.
