    ANDERSON POWER PRODUCTS® (APP), a wholly owned subsidiary of IDEAL INDUSTRIES, Inc., is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of electrical power connectors.  Anderson Power Products partners with leading edge companies to create innovative connector designs that leverage contact technology and high power expertise to provide superior value to the power electronics industry.  Applications include leading edge technology and next generation power requirements in industries such as alternate energy (wind, solar, fuel cell), datacenter and server power supply design and electrical distribution, electric vehicles, LED lighting, and battery charging.

     

    SUMMARY OF POSITION

    In this role the individual is expected to establish strategic goals & plans for marketing of all products, channels, and segments globally at Anderson Power Products, lead execution of strategy against metrics while simultaneously managing day-to-day activities of marketing staff including all aspects of product management, pricing administration, and marketing communications. Responsible for all commercial aspects related to assigned markets including: new product development, channel analysis, forecasting, contract & pricing negotiation, competitive analysis, and managing multi-national customer relationships.

    Responsibilities

    • Lead and manage the profitable growth of Anderson Power Products in partnership with other senior managers across all functional areas.
    • Develop and implement strategic goals & plans regarding marketing and commercial policy for all products, channels, and segments globally at Anderson Power Products. Develops brand strategy and market specific positioning.
    • Develop metrics and lead execution of marketing strategy globally including developing and/or acquiring technology and talent required for a competitive advantage.
    • Participate in the development of the acquisition strategy. Responsible for identifying technologies and targets for acquisition to meet strategic growth forecast. Participates in the due diligence process for acquisition candidates.
    • Establish and manage business processes globally for areas of responsibility to optimize business outcomes: (revenue generation, business development, product management, product marketing, branding, pricing, market research & analysis, product ideation & new product development)
    • Lead and manage continuous improvement of products & processes globally to optimize profitability and customer satisfaction: (product lead time reduction, product line simplification, product cost reduction, product design / quality improvement, etc.)
    • Manage the Product Management function. Ensure that Anderson’s product offerings are maintained and expanded profitably through the identification of opportunities for new and existing products.  Monitor product lifecycles and ensure appropriate strategies are developed and executed. Ensure that profit optimizing pricing strategies are developed and implemented respective to competitive market positions in different regions and markets globally.  Oversee business case creation ensuring that the value proposition and cost and revenue models are well defined and developed.  Ensure all products are effectively marketed including support materials and training.
    • Manage project management methods, tools, and systems, ensuring all phases of cross-functional IPD are accomplished within prescribed timeframe and budget. Ensure that the evaluation phase of the Integrated Product Development Process is fully defined and developed.  Ensure that the key interface with research and development are developed and maintained.
    • Lead the Market Development function. Provides marketing expertise and assigns marketing communications and product marketing resources to Market Development Managers.  Identify new markets of strategic importance and ensure further penetration and development.
    • Manage the Marketing Communications function. Oversee creation, execution, and measurement of demand generation and branding campaigns that support profitability and market share growth.  Ensure & facilitate all stakeholders receiving appropriate & effective communication regarding: (new & existing products and services, employment opportunities, workplace pride & culture, strategic direction, etc.)
    • Responsible for supporting sales and helping build and maintain key customer relationships and representing Anderson Power Products in critical trade associations.
    • Maintain strong interface with Anderson’s global facilities to ensure development of global strategy and to ensure representation of APP products globally.
    • Prioritization of projects and optimal use of resources must be achieved.

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • BS/BA or equivalent required, with an MBA desirable.
    • Connector industry knowledge preferreed and a broad understanding of technology issues.
    • Minimum of 7 years of business experience is required including 5 years of Sales Management, Product Management, Project Management or Marketing Management responsibility.

    • Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, motivational, planning and analytical skills
    • Must be able to travel domestically and globally 25%
    • Skills and expertise in dealing in an international environment within a global organization are critical.
