    The Director of Operations is responsible for the strategy creation and daily management of Operations, Purchasing and Logistics for the entire group.  This leadership position is responsible for setting the direction and achieving results through the entire Operations Team. This must be accomplished in an environment where safety is first and instilling a focused continuous improvement culture that achieves results in quality, 6S, service levels, productivity, cost reductions and delivery performance. This position must partner with the employees, business units, functional areas, customers and suppliers in order to align activities with established business objectives.  All of this must be done in alignment with our culture, core values, strategy and guiding principles.  This position will report directly to the Group President.




    • Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the company’s operations.
    • Manage daily operations and interact regularly with the Management Team to ensure that company’s operational priorities are aligned with the total company direction.
    • Provide direct oversight for the Operations Management Team including Production, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, Purchasing, Quality and Logistics.  
    • Review financial statements and data and utilize financial data to improve profitability. Plan effective strategies for the financial well-being of the company.
    • Develop and manage multi-plant budget including capital expenditures.
    • Develop Key Plant Metrics and regularly review to ensure corporate commitments are achieved. Key metrics include but are not limited to: Safety, Housekeeping, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, PM Compliance, Inventory, Cost Reductions (PPV), Fixed capital efficiency (OEE), Lean projects.
    • Facilitate frequent and effective coordination and communication within the Operations Group and cross functionally between groups.
    • Oversee supplier management process.
    • Responsible for structuring and negotiating supplier contracts to manage risk and ensure consistency with overall sourcing strategy.
    • Works with suppliers to reduce total cost of ownership.
    • Develops and manages strategic relationship with preferred suppliers


    • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a Manufacturing environment coupled with Purchasing/Sourcing experience; with at least 5 of those years supervising both hourly and salaried employees.
    • Demonstrated experience successfully working with other business functions including: Finance, Human Resources, Supply Chain, and Sales.
    • Proven track record of operational and supply chain continuous improvement implementation and results.
    • Able to demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of best practices.
    • Must possess strong leadership and negotiation skills.
    • Able to identify and manage projects from concept to implementation and successfully drive project results.
    • Lean Manufacturing knowledge and understanding of application within a dynamic Operations environment.




    • BA/ BS in Industrial, Mechanical or Business Administration Degree; MBA preferred.
