Summary of the Position

Responsible for operation of injection molding machines. Producing product in an integrated work cell concept, which includes molding machines, semi-automatic stacking machines, assembly of product and packaging of product. Performs visual and functional inspection and packaging of finished product. Works under immediate supervision. Relies on instruction and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job function does not typically require independent judgment.

Responsibilities

 

    • Operate molding machines loading inserts as required, performing secondary operations, de-gating, trimming, performing visual and other inspection functions, packaging and labeling finished products.

 

    • Requisition and acquire materials from stock as required.

 

    • Package products by retrieving materials from stock area as required, set-up bench or machine package operation, label products as per print, delivery to stock and enter transactions into computer system.

 

    • Ability to inspect and recognize defective product. Must be able to bulk pack, layer pack, and cell pack as required. Ability to use weight scales, computers, labelers, tape machines, hand lift trucks, depth gauges, clippers and knives required.
    • Participate as a member of a Project Team and/or Cross Functional Team as required.

Qualifications

    • High School or its equivalent. 0 – 3 years’ experience n field or related area.
    • Ability to understand basic work directions/specifications verbally and in writing. 
    • Must be able to identify problems, and report problem to Lead Operator or Shift Supervisor.
    • Certain work cell jobs require data entry function into the computer system
    • Must have the knowledge to understand the OSHA and other federal and state regulations
    • Ability to lift and carry between 10-50 lbs. consistently with a minimum of five to six times in a hour, and weights up to 200 lbs. using hand trucks.
    • Ability to stand on feet for long periods.
    • This position requires repetitive reaching, stretching, lifting and twisting
    • Working conditions include some dust, dirt, noise, with restricted workspaces, but not to the point of being objectionable.
