The Sr. Product Manager is responsible for supporting the Business Unit’s long term strategic plan by driving new product development and continually improving existing product lines through strategy, marketing and pricing. The Sr. Product Manager will work with the Business Unit Manager to develop the strategic plan for the business (new product ideas, market research, financial justification, etc.) and is responsible for portfolio management, new product design, packaging strategy, engineering, and manufacturability. The Product Management and Design Engineering functions of the Business Unit will report to the Sr. Product Manager.


  • Work with Business Unit Manager to develop and execute the growth strategy for the Wire Termination Business Unit.
  • Drive the product development process from new product concept, through design and engineering, manufacturability, packaging and product launch with associated sales and marketing materials.
  • Maximize the sales revenue, market share, and profit margin of our existing product lines.
  • Oversee sales and marketing support of our existing product lines in all channels.
  • Develop and drive brand, product and line strategy.
  • Develop and recommend product sales objectives, including sales volume and profit forecasts.
  • Develop pricing strategy for new and existing products.
  • Develop innovation pipeline through evaluation of new product concepts, market opportunities, manufacturability and go to market strategy.
  • Continually improve knowledge of size and share of markets into which assigned products can be sold.
  • Analysis and comparison of competitive performance and landscape in the market.
  • Lead implementation of new product launches outlined in the new product marketing plan.
  • Drive continuous improvement in sales, gross margin, and inventory turns.
  • Provide support to Electrical, Automotive, Industrial, and Retail Channels working with National Account Managers.
  • Responsible continual understanding of the competitive landscaping (pricing, product features, applications, and innovation) to drive ongoing strategy.
  • Ability to lead a team, successfully executing concurrent projects based on the changing priorities of the business.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to lead effectively across functions (operations, product procurement, marketing, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned by management.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 10 years product management experience
  • Previous experience managing a cross-functional team that includes both product management and engineering
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a sense of urgency for delivering new products to market
  • Experience in product engineering or mechanical engineering
  • Previous experience developing short and long range strategic plans for both business and product 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the product innovation and development process
  • Proven ability to build the business case for new products and successfully drive that though to product launch
  • Knowledge and successful application of 80/20 and product line simplification
  • Able to gather and use appropriate data to drive product decisions with proven success
  • Must be able to effectively drive team results
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes
