The VP of Sales is responsible for the development and execution of sales strategies that will profitably grow sales for all SK product portfolios, with a primary emphasis on the North American Automotive and Industrial channels. This position is charged with selling new products into new customer bases, sponsoring and bringing to market new products, sales forecasting, pricing implementation, and management of both a direct sales force and rep. agencies and providing direct sales relationships with large national end user accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement long-term sales strategy, goals and tactics in order to profitably grow sales in the related tool channels by creating goals and objectives that are executed throughout the sales organization.
  • Responsible for the management of the direct sales team and rep. agencies, ncluding ensuring that the sales organization is appropriately structured and staffed to meet business demands; recruitment, training, performance management and development of direct staff; selection and management of rep. agencies where applicable.
  • Responsible for creating and managing the P&L for all sales channels within the tool channels, including budgeting, forecasting, top line growth, profitability and managing operating expenses.
  • Analyze how the competition, end-users, market pricing, and other conditions affect the current and future state of the business.
  • Partner with Marketing and Product Management on the identification of new products to enhance our existing offering and to provide guidance for design of new products and services to satisfy growing market needs.
  • Work with all in the Business Unit to foster go-to-market strategies for launching new products and services.
  • Support product management team to develop appropriate trade show displays, advertising, and other marketing materials.
  • Identify and develop new markets, channels, and vertical segments.
  • Identify and attend relevant industry trade shows and associations.
  • Present the current status and near-term expectations for the business annually as part of the corporate quarterly review process.
  • Manage customer service and inside sales.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing or Business related field. MBA preferred (or recognized equivalent).
  • The ideal candidate will be self-driven, highly collaborative and motivated.
  • 10 years of progressive experience in channel sales, preferably in the Automotive or Hand Tools industry. Thorough knowledge of product distribution infrastructure, preferably in the Automotive or Industrial channel.
  • 5 years managing a sales team.
  • Travel required, mostly national with some international: 50% - 75%
  • Proven track record of achieving revenue growth & profitability through sales excellence and execution. Multiple year sales goal achievement required.
  • Strategic/key account and product deployment experience and extensive account management experience with detailed accomplishments.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a sales team that consistently delivers and often exceeds expected results.
  • Ability to command cross-functional support and respect.
  • Experience with P&Ls including, developing and managing budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong analytical skills.
