  • Analyze, debug, repair and improve mechanical and electrical components as integrated into assembly equipment providing production departments with efficient, safe, and well documented equipment constantly improving process with innovative and creative thinking.
  • Install verify and maintain sensors, laser measuring equipment, vision systems and other means to ensure assembly and packing equipment is producing product that meets required quality levels.
  • Provide equipment that is safe to operate following accepted safety guarding practices. Including safety risk assessments, use and selection of interlocks and hard and soft guarding design, selection, fabrication and installation.
  • Research, train with, and implement new technologies and process that will drive automation as a core competency
  • Document and train employees on the operation of new equipment as well as providing documentation and training for machine maintenance and trouble-shooting.


  • HMI integration for machine control, providing accurate machine information and a high degree of usability.
  • Integration of machine safeties, including safety relays, interlocks, light curtains and other means to ensure machine safety.
  • Machine electrical panel construction. Component installation. Working with vendors and other Technical Support team members to ensure proper compatibility and machine function.
  • Integration of sensors, pneumatic valves, vision systems and other electronic equipment to function accurately, reliably and safely.
  • AND/OR
  • Assist in developing new manufacturing processes used to assemble, convey, fabricate or pack new and existing products.
  • Fabrication of mechanical assemblies used in high-speed assembly and packing equipment. Including the use of tool and die principals to fabricate accurate and reliable component parts.
  • Integration of a variety of mechanical components such as bearings, bushings, linear slides, pneumatic components, fabricated components to construct complex mechanisms.




  • Understanding of quality systems, ISO, SPC, and control charting.
  • A thorough knowledge of safety and safety products used to safeguard industrial equipment as well as principals used to work safely. Must possess the ability to work safely in potentially dangerous environment. Properly using lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • AND
  • Working knowledge of RSLogix ladder logic programming and PLC integration. Including troubleshooting to ensure machine function and safety.
  • AND/OR
  • Understanding of providing proper fit and clearances, material selection, and finishes to ensure reliability and repeatability of both static and dynamic components of assembly and packing equipment.
  • Working knowledge of engineering documentation. Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, BOM, and understanding complex assembly prints. 
  • 5-7 years extensive filed experience doing the above or a bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 2-3 years experience.
  • Lean manufacturing training is strongly preferred.



  • Must be able to continuously lift, push and pull up to 5 lbs, for 8-10 hours per day and, on occasion, lift up to 80 lbs. This capability will either be determined from a physical exam, or verifiable past performance.
  • Continuous standing during a shift (8-10 hours) with frequent reaching, pulling and bending.



  • Hot/cold temperatures based on seasonal variations
  • May be humidity, noise, odors, dust
