The role of the Route Salesman position is to drive an SK mobile Tool Truck and provide exemplary customer service while selling SK automotive products in a designated region.

 

The Route Sales Representative sells our products, orders (using handheld and/or laptop computers), delivers, merchandises and promotes all of our new products. The RSR is responsible for maintaining and growing same store sales by developing positive relationships and servicing customers on a designated route in a professional manner.

Responsibilities

  • Drive mobile sales vehicle in sales region.
  • Determine optimal sales route including selection of customer stops along route.
  • Handle sales transactions with customers (cash, credit cards, and consumer credit)
  • Maintain inventory on mobile sales vehicle including loading truck.
  • Deliver back orders and non-stocking items in timely fashion.
  • Support and process warranty claims.
  • Ensures the company truck meets DOT standards and represents the company well.
  • Drives company route truck safely; safely loads and unloads the truck as directed.
  • Introduces new products and services to maximize sales.
  • Manage retail space within truck.
  • Lives and promotes the Spirit of the Company, including respect for people, working safely at all times, committing to continuous improvement, exceeding customer expectations as well as working to meet the company’s financial goals.
  • Maintains daily truck inventory and does monthly physical inventory and reports any variations to management.
  • Keeps vehicle operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting\ breakdowns; performing preventive maintenance; scheduling repairs.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required. College degree preferred.
  • Must have valid driver’s license in state of sales route.
  • Must have CDL license (Class A or B) or ability to obtain if required for specific assigned route vehicle
  • Ability to meet Company Driver Qualification Policy 
  • Basic computer/data entry skills and math abilities 
  • Sales experience a plus 
  • Delivery experience preferred
  • Must have CDL or must be willing/capable of obtaining CDL as applicable for route vehicle
  • Strong motivation to build customer relationships and achieve RSR and company goals
  • Excellent customer service abilities required and account management skills a plus
  • Strong work ethic; able to work independently
  • Ability to professionally communicate with external and internal customers
  • Must be able to pass DOT physical, drug screen, motor vehicle record and background check
