ANDERSON POWER PRODUCTS® (APP), a wholly owned subsidiary of IDEAL INDUSTRIES, Inc., is an industry leader in the design and manufacture of electrical power connectors.  Anderson Power Products partners with leading edge companies to create innovative connector designs that leverage contact technology and high power expertise to provide superior value to the power electronics industry.  Applications include leading edge technology and next generation power requirements in industries such as alternate energy (wind, solar, fuel cell), datacenter and server power supply design and electrical distribution, electric vehicles, LED lighting, and battery charging.


The Director of Sales is responsible for developing all of the tactical and strategic initiatives for APP’s U.S and International markets.   This includes driving sustainable revenue growth, successful launch of new products, recommending and implementing pricing policy, and all aspects of external distribution systems. This Position reports to the General Manager


  • Achieve Annual Sales Plan goals
  • Development and implementation of the strategic sales plan for all US and European Sales efforts.
  • Drive results through all Regional Sales Managers in assigned territories via established sales goals.
  • Successfully manage sales funnel tracking both regionally and globally, and provide regular reports of sales funnel data.
  • Development and implementation of sales and distribution channel strategies.
  • Work with Regional Sales Managers to select/manage APP sales reps and distributors.
  • Manage sales incentive program which drives company sales initiatives.
  • Analyzing POS reporting system to improve sales revenue.
  • Champion continuous improvement in CRM (Intuitive) capabilities, systems, and processes.
  • Partner with Marketing in penetrating and tracking accounts.
  • Provide sales forecast for 12 month rolling forecast. Forecast by region, product line, and market segment for sales territories.
  • Participate with the leadership team to develop annual business plan.
  • Collect and analyze market data (competitors, industry trends, pricing points, and other useful information).
  • Identify training programs for sales force and distribution/channel partners.
  • Work with Marketing and Engineering to coordinate successful launch of new products to market.
  • Coordinate with Marketing the preparation of annual product promotional plans (mix and specifics for advertising, trade show attendance, sales literature, and related activities).
  • Participation on various Project Teams and/or Cross-Functional Teams as required.


  • BS/BA Required
  • 10-15 years’ progressive sales experience with a minimum of 5 years sales leadership experience (to include 2+ years International Sales).
  • Successful development of high performing sales team
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally 50%
  • Experience in business planning and leading strategic direction of a sales force.
  • Driven by results, competitiveness, accountability, and building/developing effective teams
  • Experience in consultative technical sales utilizing a defined selling methodology
