IDEAL INDUSTRIES, Inc. newest business unit Advanced Wireless Solutions is looking for a Regional Project Sales Manager to lead the sales efforts, signing of rep firms, and establish new channel relationships throughout a newly added Mountain State Region (geography being finalized). The AUDACY System provides wireless control via a web or mobile app over multi-building Lighting and HVAC systems by automatically sensing and adjusting to ambient light, movement and room occupancy. Customer installations of the system have consistently delivered energy savings up to 60 percent. The system can be installed in 1/8 the time of competitive wired systems


The AUDACY System provides:

  • Occupancy/Vacancy, Daylight Harvesting, Scheduling, Remote System and Scene Control
  • Quick and simple installation into light fixtures
  • Web or mobile control from anywhere Internet access is available
  • Compliance with ASHRAE 90.1-2010
  • Custom control of individual light fixtures
  • Maintenance-free battery life on wireless devices
  • Ability to be used on linear fluorescent, can/down-light and LED troffer fixtures
  • Integration with existing building automation systems
  • Available device per-configuration away from job site

This position can be located in the New York, New Jersey, Boston, Philadelphia or Baltimore Markets. 


Primary responsibilities of the Regional Project Manager consist of but are not limited to:

  • Specification Targets (e.g., property management firms, large architecture firms, and government agencies)
    • Work closely with the Director, Advanced Wireless Solutions to effectively communicate the value of the IDEAL solution to large national accounts.
    • Be the primary technical and project point-of-contact for accounts developed by the Director, Advanced Wireless Solutions.
    • Explain the features and benefits of the IDEAL solution to customer stakeholders
    • Drive the placement of IDEAL products in to the customer specifications
    • Work with the customer project teams to create all necessary documentation relating to specifications, project information, project narratives, etc. and develop a project plan that will ensure costs and timelines are accomplished. 
  • Renovation Targets (e.g., smaller architecture firms, engineering firms, design/build contractors, energy services companies)
    • Develop sales strategies for the Advanced Wireless Solutions product line on a regional basis.
    • Analyze construction data to create a list of potential customers for IDEAL Area Sales Managers within the region.
    • Drive IDEAL Area Sales Managers to execute the regional sales strategy for the Advanced Wireless Solutions product line.
    • Act as the technical “closer” for projects that do not involve large national accounts.
    • Provide training to multiple constituencies (e.g., IDEAL Area Sales Managers, architects, engineers, distributor personnel, electrical contractors, and building management personnel) on all aspects of the Advanced Wireless Solutions product line. 
  • Work closely with Product Development team in the continued evolution of the product line.
  • Effectively communicate risks, issues and project status to both company and customer management.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot installed systems when necessary.
  • Accountable for revenue and profit growth for the product line
  • Have a firm, clear understanding of specification and fulfillment process through electrical distribution
  • Represent IDEAL as a knowledgeable and credible expert in regulatory and code issues that affect system choice and implementation (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED, NEC)


Anticipated time breakdown:

60% supporting renovation target activities

30% supporting specification target activities

10% supporting diagnosis & troubleshooting activities





  • Must possess strong technical aptitude
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and presentation skills.
  • Well-organized and strong documentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize key sales tasks and objectives.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects..
  • Effective communication skills with executive (e.g., VP, Managing Director, etc.) customer contacts.
  • Able to understand technical concepts at a moderately detailed level.
  • Communicates well with engineers, contractors, building managers, etc.
  • Results-oriented and very pro-active.
  • Strong understanding of LEED practices and energy efficiency principles.
  • Able to troubleshoot and solve problems in a customer-focused environment.
  • Able to deliver quality solutions to project deadlines.
  • Solution selling proficiency





  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7-10 years’ sales experience
  • Prefer someone who is geographically located according to IDEAL Electrical Distribution regions.
  • Strong training experience with the ability to ensure that customers understand the requirements of installing the product.
  • Experience supporting a Regional Sales Manager and/or other Area Sales Managers.
  • Strong communications skills to all levels within the customer’s organization.
  • Experience with new product introduction
  • Able to travel 25% - 50% of the time
  • Preferred LEED-AP certified
