The Production Supervisor directs and coordinates all plant activities and personnel within their designated areas of responsibility to deliver quality products on time to our customers and at a profit. This must be accomplished in an environment where safety is first and a balanced ‘lean’ attack continually achieves and improves Quality/Housekeeping/Service levels/Productivity. This position must partner with other functional areas, customers and suppliers in order to align plant activities with established business objectives and product/customer requirements.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Supervise one or more functional operations’ group(s) (Assembly, Packaging, fabrication, Benders, Lubes, Stones, Fish tape, Machine shop, or any combination) in coordination with the appropriate team leaders.
  • Responsible for providing a safe and clean working environment for their subordinate employees.
  • Direct, train, and monitor activity within the group(s), insuring compliance with all appropriate procedures and policies for that functional group.
  • Present ideas and plans for improvements supported by appropriate analysis.
  • Periodically procure items for either production, or department use.
  • Assign and prioritize work to meet production requirements.
  • Responsible to conduct employee performance appraisals.
  • Responsible for scheduling time off for subordinate personnel.
  • Coordinate activities with other functional groups ( EHS, maintenance, shipping, accounting etc.).
  • Other related duties as directed by management (including filling in as a team leader, or for the plant manager when they are out of the plant).

Qualifications

 

  • High School Diploma, Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Ability to provide leadership in directing and managing a diverse work group to meet company goals.
  • Must have demonstrated sufficient communications skills (both written and oral) for upward, and downward communications flow.
  • Advanced courses related or pertinent to supervising in a manufacturing environment are preferred. 
  • Progressive responsibility within a functional group, or equivalent verifiable related experience.
  • Demonstrated management leadership skills.
  • A credible safety record in previous positions.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing with ability to lead teams through effective problem solving.
