Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Follow all safety procedures.
  • Perform a variety of semi-complex production tasks with limited direction from the Supervisor and/or Team Lead, including but not limited to machine setup and/or job setup, troubleshooting and routinemaintenance of equipment.
  • Prior experience and demonstrated skill using shop equipment including, but not limited to, grinders, belt sanders, bearing presses and drill presses.
  • Prior experience and demonstrated skill using basic hand and power tools, including but not limited to; wrenches, screwdrivers, Allen wrenches, drills, files and hammers.
  • Prior experience and demonstrated skill using PLC controls to operate and setup machinery.
  • Where necessary, monitor work visually and dimensionally referring to blueprints, engineering specifications, and job instruction sheets. Maintain quality and rate charts as required.
  • At the request of the Team Lead, this position will be required and responsible to direct others within a team environment in the performance of specific tasks.
  • Experience and understanding of LEAN processes, such as Kanban, 5S, Poka-Yoke, and Standard Work
  • Train other employees in the performance of specific tasks.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Maintains housekeeping in the work area.
  • Other related duties as directed by management.


Skills/Competencies Required:


  • Must have working knowledge of all primary functions within a department.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written multi-step directions for semi-complex tasks.
  • Visual acuity and hand dexterity to package and assemble a variety of materials is required.
  • Machine operation and quality inspection experience are desired.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required; the ability to multi-task and understand cause/effect relationships are skills that the successful candidate should have. An above average sense of urgency to meet daily goals is paramount.
  • For selected tasks, color and depth perception may be required.
  • This position will require an OSHA approved powered industrial truck license.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.


  • High school diploma or GED and a minimum of 2 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-Year Technical Degree or Certification in a related field; Auto Repair or Manufacturing Engineering would be desired.
  • Minimum of 12 months of progressive experience in manufacturing is required.
  • Lean manufacturing experience is preferred.
  • Forklift certification and/or the ability to obtain certification within 1 month of hire.
  • Previous experience working in the Assembly Department is a plus.
  • Previous experience working with and/or using automated vision systems is a plus.


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to frequently lift, push and pull up to 50 lbs, for 8-10 hours per day and, on occasion, lift and push up to 60 lbs. This capability will either be determined from a physical exam, or verifiable past performance.
  • Prolonged standing and/or sitting during a shift (8-10 hours) with frequent reaching, pulling and bending.

Work Environment:

  • Hot/cold temperatures based on seasonal variations
  • May be humidity, noise, odors, dust
  • Frequent exposure to chemical and mechanical hazards
